Humor Therapy

people_laughing
Lately, I’ve been feeling cranky and super annoyed about little things. My sister keeps on jabbing me about my attitude that it makes me wanna cover her mouth with a duct tape. Why the crankiness? I don’t know, maybe it’s the hormones? Blame it on hormones, eh? :cool Anyway, to ease my irritation, I did some humor therapy – read some text jokes and funny books. It works! Slowly, irritations gone and no more duct tape for my sister. Hahaha! Laughter can really transform a person’s outlook positively! :D

What is humor therapy? Humor therapy, also known as therapeutic humor, uses the power of smiles and laughter to help heal the human body from different types of emotional or physical diseases.

Scientists have been researching the relationship between the mind and the body. This is in connection with the body’s natural ability to heal. Laughter appears to change brain chemistry and is said to boost the immune system. Humor helps people take control of and assess certain situations more manageably. It allows people to release fears, anger and stress. Humor improves the quality of life.

Laughter is still the best medicine! :))

Stress Buster

deep-breathing

The best antistress medicine we have may be right under your nose! Think you know how to do it? Try this simple test: sit or stand wherever you are and take a deep breath, then let it out. What expanded more as you inhaled, your chest or your belly? If the answer is your chest, you’re like most people and you’re doing it wrong.

Take another deep breath and breathe like a baby. :D

Watch a baby breathe and you’ll see the belly go up and down, deep and slow. Slow, deep breathing is probably the single best antistress medicine we have. When you bring air down into the lower part of the lungs, where oxygen exchange is most efficient, everything changes. Heart rate slows, blood pressure decreases, muscles relax, anxiety ceases and the mind calms.
