Here comes the bride(smaid)!

bridesmaid

I have good/happy news and bad-kinda-panicky news…

I received a happy news from my best friend…. She’s going to get married!!! I am so happy for her! She’s lucky because she is going to marry her high school sweetheart. Finally, after more than ten years of being together they will end up in church! :D This is the good news.

The bad-kinda-panicky news – I have to lose more than 50 pounds to look good on my gown! Yikes! :?? Of course, I’m her maid of honor and I’m feeling panicky right now by just thinking of how I am going to look on my gown. I need to lose weight fast and I only have less than a year to keep off those unwanted pounds?! Oh my, I need a fat-burner right now to make sure that I will be the prettiest bridesmaid ever! I know, I know, beauty is skin deep but don’t you wanna look good on pictures? Don’t you wanna look happy and not hiding behind other people when the camera snap? Ok, I really need the fat-burner! Now!

Recession

Recession is so bad that a lot of people lost their jobs. One of the victims of recession is my friend Rachel. She lost her job a few months ago and it really hurt her and her family. :-( She didn’t have savings because she’s living from paycheck to paycheck. I thought she would go mad from all the worries and stress that she had dealt with. So sad! :((
Recently, I had a chat with her and it looks like she’s okay. Rachel told me she looked for admin jobs and have found one that she’s interested in. It’s so nice to hear that she is working again and I’m pretty sure little by little all the stress and worries will disappear. I also reminded her to save save save money so when another storm comes her way, she’ll be ready.

Mic test! Mic test!

mic-test

One of my colleague is good at public speaking and I can’t imagine when she told me that she used to stutter or just stood completely still, no sounds coming out from her mouth whenever she speak in a crowd. Whoa, I can’t believe this because she’s so good. Imagine, she used to suffer from public speaking anxiety and now you won’t even notice it because she’s so good in public speaking.

There will be a Parents-Teachers Conference coming up and I’m going to address the school rules to the parents. I”m not that good at speaking to a large crowd but because of her, I am now more inspired to do something with this personal issue. :nerdy

Fat Teacher No More!

fat

Classes start again here in the Philippines and that means busy, busy days for me. I’m a Special Education teacher so I’ll have limited “me” time and more on focusing with school loads. I have weight issues and I have been doing some exercise (Body Combat) to keep it off. I need to be physically fit and healthy because last school year, I had so many absences due to weight-related sickness. :undecided I got easily tired, I can’t surpass or even compete with the energy of my students and I easily catch colds. All of this is because of me being an obese. :??

Now, I’m afraid that I won’t have time to exercise and that my weight will balloon again. Oh, nooo! I can’t do that to myself. I’ve been so good, I have lost several pounds already and please, I don’t want to be the FAT teacher anymore! :grr I need to look for the best by reading on slimming pills review to help me with my weight since I don’t have that much time for myself. And I’m sure by taking slimming pills I don’t have to panic when I there’s no time to do Body Combat. Whew, I guess problem solve! :roll

Learning Other Languages

linguist1

When I was a kid my ambition aside from becoming a Stewardess, is to become a Linguist. I wanted to become an interpreter in beauty pageants and I thought it would be really really fun if people around you doesn’t understand literally what you’re talking or writing about. Isn’t that cool? :cool
A linguist in the academic sense is a person who studies linguistics. Ambiguously, the word is sometimes also used to refer to a polyglot (one who knows more than 2 languages), or a grammarian, but these two uses of the word are distinct (and one does not have to be a polyglot in order to be an academic linguist). (Wikipedia)

Sadly, I didn’t pursue these dreams. Stewardess is not for me because of height and weight issues and being a Linguist, I just forgot about it :x I’ve become a Special Education teacher instead. Now, I seriously wanted to learn other languages. I wanted to travel and study the cultures of different countries. Language barriers gone, I will be the happiest traveller!

The languages that I’m going to study are Mandarin, Nihongo, French, Italian and German language. Whoa, too ambitious??? Nah, I can do it! :nerdy

Different is Good!

If I really wanted to make a difference I would..

Celebrate diversity.

You can literally change your world by challenging and encouraging those around you to develop their unique gifts and abilities, experience the richness of cultural differences, and open their minds to ideas and concepts other than their own. Different is GOOD! :-)

Humor Therapy

people_laughing
Lately, I’ve been feeling cranky and super annoyed about little things. My sister keeps on jabbing me about my attitude that it makes me wanna cover her mouth with a duct tape. Why the crankiness? I don’t know, maybe it’s the hormones? Blame it on hormones, eh? :cool Anyway, to ease my irritation, I did some humor therapy – read some text jokes and funny books. It works! Slowly, irritations gone and no more duct tape for my sister. Hahaha! Laughter can really transform a person’s outlook positively! :D

What is humor therapy? Humor therapy, also known as therapeutic humor, uses the power of smiles and laughter to help heal the human body from different types of emotional or physical diseases.

Scientists have been researching the relationship between the mind and the body. This is in connection with the body’s natural ability to heal. Laughter appears to change brain chemistry and is said to boost the immune system. Humor helps people take control of and assess certain situations more manageably. It allows people to release fears, anger and stress. Humor improves the quality of life.

Laughter is still the best medicine! :))

Stress Buster

deep-breathing

The best antistress medicine we have may be right under your nose! Think you know how to do it? Try this simple test: sit or stand wherever you are and take a deep breath, then let it out. What expanded more as you inhaled, your chest or your belly? If the answer is your chest, you’re like most people and you’re doing it wrong.

Take another deep breath and breathe like a baby. :D

Watch a baby breathe and you’ll see the belly go up and down, deep and slow. Slow, deep breathing is probably the single best antistress medicine we have. When you bring air down into the lower part of the lungs, where oxygen exchange is most efficient, everything changes. Heart rate slows, blood pressure decreases, muscles relax, anxiety ceases and the mind calms.
