There will be some changes in this blog in 2012. I will be talking more about being a teacher and how it affects my daily life. I will be talking about special education more, which is what I am focusing on in teaching. I will also be focusing on the state of young students here without crossing the line of privacy invasion, of course.
I want to be more active in blogging in 2012 and I will try to post an entry at least twice or thrice a week.
I am excited for what 2012 will bring!
;)
One of my best friends since I was in high school was not able to go to college right off high school. Coming from a below average income family, her parents couldn’t afford to send her to college. So she worked right after high school graduation, saved enough money for college tuition and after two years, she was able to send herself to college while working part time.
And now, after close to five years in college, this is it! She is graduating by April 2012! I am so proud of my best friend! As a way to show how proud our common friends and I of her, we are throwing away a surprise party for her the night of her graduation. I am already asking them to get university graduation gifts for her. I am also inviting her family to come over and celebrate with us.
Even with all the adversity she faced over the years she still managed to overcome it all and emerged a victor. So proud!
My paternal grandma just underwent an operation in his eyes to remove a cataract. As a get well soon celebration of sorts, my sisters and I will buy gourmet gifts for grandpa. We love seeing him smile! And gifts will surely make him smile and maybe even cry a little because his grandkids remembered him again.
We will spend this coming weekend at the grandparents’ house. There will surely be a lot of food ala town fiesta (as usual hehe) and lots of stories from everyone around.
It’ll be a fun get well soon party for grandpa with lots of gifts for him for sure!
I am so happy right now that our school is on semestral break. I needed this vacation so bad. The last few days before our break, my body is aching so bad – back pains, headaches that leads to a fever. I am so burnt out that a recharge is really needed.
Now, I’m enjoying my vacation so much. I’m sleeping for 12 hours without worrying about being late or worrying about the kids (my students) is heaven for me. A week off from school will surely recharge me.
While browsing the web earlier, I saw the gift that I want to receive this Christmas. It’s a girl’s best friend! Yes. You are right, it’s a diamond necklace! Who wouldn’t want to receive those gorgeous stones, right? Hay, if only someone will give me one, I will be the happiest for sure! Any kind of jewelry with diamonds will do. Paging dad and my rich sisters! LOL!
On Tuesday, November 1st, my dad, siblings and I will visit our dearly departed loved ones. We will visit my brother, mom and grandma at the columbary. This is the first time to spend All Saint’s Day in a columbary because before my mom and brother were laid at a cemetery in Bulacan. Our family is relieved that my mom and brother was transferred here in the city last March because some parts of Bulacan are now flooded due to the typhoons. I can’t imagine going to a flooded cemetery. That is just scary for me.
I’m excited to buy flowers and decorate them for our dearly departed. In a way, it’s kind of sad that I’m doing flower decorations for my mom, brother and grandma who is not here anymore. But offering them flowers shows how much we love and misses them. It’s a sad and at the same time a happy event for me when we are visiting our loved ones.
I can’t believe that a few days from now and it’s already November. How time flies! After Halloween we will all become busy with Christmas then New Year. I can’t believe that another year will soon end.
Right now I just don’t want to think of Christmas or New Year because I’m so excited about the Halloween party that I’m going to. My costume is all set and I am so ready to have a blast. It would be nice though if I have the right make up. I’m telling you, I need tutorials on those kind of stuff. Actually, my super BFF is helping me with that one. She’s also lecturing me about eyelash growth products because guys cannot resists those long lashes. Well, she knows a lot of stuff that guys “like” so I’m totally listening to her. LOL!
My aunt Nini will give all the younger ones in the family who are still in school one laptops notebooks each. She is already talking to a supplier about it. She wants each student in the family to become tech savvy as it is now a must for a job applicant to be one. Aunt Nini wants every one of us to be as computer literate as we can be.
She’s always been very generous when it comes to us kids. She would allot paycheck after paycheck for whatever she thought we needed for school. And now that she has her own successful business, she’s more generous as ever!
My friend wants to throw a Halloween party. She wants to invite us, her friends and her family, of course. She’s asking me if it is too early to give out invitations. I can’t believe that she already have invitations. When I asked her where she got them, she told me that it’s from halloween party invitations from invitationbox.com. My friend is really serious about this Halloween party!
I don’t know if it’s too early for Halloween invitations but I’m sure those people who will receive them will be delighted to be invited. My friend is known to throw grand parties that you will never forget.
I love this red FitFlop! I’m getting crazy with wearing them. It’s just a slippers, I know, but I like wearing one and it’s actually the trend today. It’s quite expensive yes but I know where to buy so my pocket doesn’t have a deep hole. And I hope that I can really get the benefits like the one on this chart.
Yesterday, I noticed that one of the teachers is looking good. Before she doesn’t mind not wearing make up or not even bothering to brush her hair. Agh! Her face especially her eyes, they always looked tired and wrinkly! But now she is a change woman. She looks pretty and young. I also noticed that her eyes are not that wrinkly anymore. No more crowfeet, hello to younger radiant looking eyes!
Everybody got curious because of the change in her and I heard that she’s using orogold. It is an anti-aging eye serum with pure 24K Gold that increases circulation and oxygen to the skin. Gold has definitely made her skin shine!
Our neighbor Ritzi discovered a new love… table tennis for the indoors! A co-worker introduced it to her and from then on, she got hooked to it. In fact, she is going to get a newgy table tennis table so that she can play it even if she’s at home. Did I say she’s hooked on it now?
I think it’s a good thing to be hooked on sports or in any kind of game that is also a form of exercise. Ritzi is a bit overweight so getting hooked on this indoors table tennis game will be her way of becoming fit.
I really need to lose weight because I cannot compromise my health anymore. My friend suggested diet pills and a cousin of mine told me to buy phenphedrine. She told me that Phenphedrine will help me lose weight fast. I really hope so. I’m thinking of going back to the gym even on weekends only. I really need to lose weight and I’m really dying to see a thinner me.
My dad and his friends love to play golf. He’s new to it but he really loves it. It’s his new hobby and we (siblings) are happy that it’s a sport and not something that could cause harm. Earlier my dad bought a garmin approach golf gps to help him with his game. He and my uncles and some of their friends will play tomorrow. Dad is quite excited about it. He told me that golf is his new hobby and he wants to excel in it.
There’s a new tv stands in our school. They are from the fund raising from the PTA. It’s a good thing that the TV stands were already delivered because the new TV that the school had bought will arrive next week. Now our viewing rooms and libraries are already improved and upgraded.
Thanks to the parents, teachers and admin who are very supportive and always thinking about the welfare of the students.
I saw the other day some of my former students and I suddenly misses them. They are calling me just to say hi or hello and that’s something for me. It means that they still remember me and maybe misses me, too,
I’m handling kinder students right now and they are sweet. Last school year, I handled grade 6 students and some of them still act like a child but you can talk to them or share stories with them. That’s what I missed the most. Talking to my students and hearing them sharing stories with me is a joy to my heart. I hope that I will also hear stories from my new students and that this will be a fun year for us.
It’s raining again and the cold splatter of water is such a welcome form the extremely hot weather for the past few days! I love rain but I just love it when I’m not outside. I don’t like raindrops on my head or murky water splashing at my feet. I love rain but I just love looking at it from my window.
Now that I’m back to school and it’s raining, I have no choice but to endure the raindrops or the cold water on my face. Yesterday, I was already on the way home when it started raining so hard. I almost run but my sandals is slippery so I just walk slowly because I’m afraid that I’ll slip. While walking slowly, I felt the cold wind and the raindrops on my face and arms. It felt so good and when I look at the surroundings, the place looks like they’re breathing! That’s the first time that I enjoyed the rain and loving it even when I’m outside.
